Sa‘eed bin Al-Musayyab narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) say: ‘They will leave Madinah when it is the best it ever was, and nothing will live time but wild animals and birds. Then’ two shepherds will come from Muzainah, heading for Al-Madinah, tending their flocks, and they will find it desolate, than when they reach Thaniyyat Al-Wada, they will fall down on their faces.”

وَحَدَّثَنِى عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ حَدَّثَنِى أَبِى عَنْ جَدِّى حَدَّثَنِى عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِى سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « يَتْرُكُونَ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَى خَيْرِ مَا كَانَتْ لاَ يَغْشَاهَا إِلاَّ الْعَوَافِى - يُرِيدُ عَوَافِىَ السِّبَاعِ وَالطَّيْرِ - ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ رَاعِيَانِ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ يُرِيدَانِ الْمَدِينَةَ يَنْعِقَانِ بِغَنَمِهِمَا فَيَجِدَانِهَا وَحْشًا حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَا ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ خَرَّا عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمَا ».

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mazini that the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: “The area between my house and my Minbar is one of the gardens of Paradise.”

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِى بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْمَازِنِىِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِى وَمِنْبَرِى رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ ».

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: “The area between my house and my Minbar is one of the gardens of Paradise, and my Minbar is upon my cistern (Hawd).”

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِى حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِى وَمِنْبَرِى رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ وَمِنْبَرِى عَلَى حَوْضِى ».

It was narrated that Abu Humaid said: “We set out with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) on the campaign of Tabuk...” and he quoted the Hadith, in which he said: “Then we came to the valley of Al-Qura, and the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: “I am hastening, so whoever among you wants to, let him hasten with me, and whoever among you wants to, let him proceed slowly.” Then we Went out until we looked out over Al-Madinah and he said: “This is Tabah, and this is Uhud; it is a mountain that loves us and We love it.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلاَلٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ السَّاعِدِىِّ عَنْ أَبِى حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فِى غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ. وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ وَفِيهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلْنَا حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا وَادِىَ الْقُرَى فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « إِنِّى مُسْرِعٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُسْرِعْ مَعِى وَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَمْكُثْ ». فَخَرَجْنَا حَتَّى أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ « هَذِهِ طَابَةُ وَهَذَا أُحُدٌ وَهُوَ جَبَلٌ يُحِبُّنَا وَنُحِبُّهُ ».

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (S.A.W) said: “One prayer in this Masjid of mine is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except Al-Masjid Al-Haram”

حَدَّثَنِى عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَمْرٍو - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « صَلاَةٌ فِى مَسْجِدِى هَذَا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ إِلاَّ الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ ».

It was narrated from Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman and Abu Abdullah Al-Agharr, the freed slave of the Juhanis - who were companions of Abu Hurairah - that they heard Abu Hurairah say: “One prayer in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) is better than a thousand prayers in any other Masjid, except Al-Masjid Al-Haram, and the Messenger of Allah (SAW) is the last of the Prophets, and his Masjid is the last of the Masajid.”Abu Salamah and Abu Abdur-Rahman said: “We did not doubt that Abu Hurairah was narrating the words of the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and this kept us from asking him for proof of that Hadith. Then when Abu Hurairah died, we discussed that and blamed one another for not speaking to Abu Hurairah about that, so that he could have attributed it to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) if heard it from him. While we were like that, Abdullah bin Ibrahim bin Qariz sat down with us and we told him this Hadith and how we had neglected to ascertain whether Abu Hurairah was narrating it directly from the Prophet (SAW), Abdullah bin Ibrahim bin Qariz said to us: ‘I bear witness that I heard Abu Hurairah say: ‘The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘I am the last of the Prophets and my Masjid is the last of the Masajid.’’’”

حَدَّثَنِى إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِمْصِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْدِىُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنْ أَبِى سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَأَبِى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَغَرِّ مَوْلَى الْجُهَنِيِّينَ - وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ - أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ صَلاَةٌ فِى مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلاَّ الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- آخِرُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ مَسْجِدَهُ آخِرُ الْمَسَاجِدِ. قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ لَمْ نَشُكَّ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ يَقُولُ عَنْ حَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَمَنَعَنَا ذَلِكَ أَنْ نَسْتَثْبِتَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ الْحَدِيثِ حَتَّى إِذَا تُوُفِّىَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ تَذَاكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ وَتَلاَوَمْنَا أَنْ لاَ نَكُونَ كَلَّمْنَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فِى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُسْنِدَهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إِنْ كَانَ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ جَالَسَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ قَارِظٍ فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ الْحَدِيثَ وَالَّذِى فَرَّطْنَا فِيهِ مِنْ نَصِّ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ لَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَشْهَدُ أَنِّى سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « فَإِنِّى آخِرُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ مَسْجِدِى آخِرُ الْمَسَاجِدِ ».

Yahya bin Sa‘eed said: “I asked Abu Salih:‘Did you hear Abu Hurairah mention the virtue of praying in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) He said: ‘No, but’ Abdullah bin Ibrahim bin Qariz told me that he heard Abu Hurairah narrating that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “One prayer in this Masjid of mine is better than a thousand prayers” -or “it is like a thousand prayers - in any other Masjid, unless it is Al-Masjid Al-Haram.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَابْنُ أَبِى عُمَرَ جَمِيعًا عَنِ الثَّقَفِىِّ - قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ - قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا صَالِحٍ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَذْكُرُ فَضْلَ الصَّلاَةِ فِى مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ لاَ وَلَكِنْ أَخْبَرَنِى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ قَارِظٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « صَلاَةٌ فِى مَسْجِدِى هَذَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ - أَوْ كَأَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ - فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ ».

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “A woman fell sick and said: ‘If Allah heals me, I will certainly go and pray in Bayt Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem).’ She recovered, then she made preparations to set out. She came to Maimunah, the Wife of the Prophet (S.A.W) to greet her, and told her about that. Maimunah said to her: ‘Stay here and eat what you have prepared and pray in the Masjid of the Messenger(S.A.W) for heard the Messenger of Allah say: One prayer therein is better than a thousand prayers offered in any other Masjid, except the Masjid of the Ka‘bah”’

وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ جَمِيعًا عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ - قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ - عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ امْرَأَةً اشْتَكَتْ شَكْوَى فَقَالَتْ إِنْ شَفَانِى اللَّهُ لأَخْرُجَنَّ فَلأُصَلِّيَنَّ فِى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ. فَبَرَأَتْ ثُمَّ تَجَهَّزَتْ تُرِيدُ الْخُرُوجَ فَجَاءَتْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهَا فَأَخْبَرَتْهَا ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتِ اجْلِسِى فَكُلِى مَا صَنَعْتِ وَصَلِّى فِى مَسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَإِنِّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « صَلاَةٌ فِيهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلاَّ مَسْجِدَ الْكَعْبَةِ ».

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (S.A.W) said: “No journey should be undertaken to visit any Masjid but three: This Masjid of mine, Al-Masjid Al-Haram and Al-Masjid AI-Aqsa.”

حَدَّثَنِى عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ - قَالَ عَمْرٌو حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ - عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « لاَ تُشَدُّ الرِّحَالُ إِلاَّ إِلَى ثَلاَثَةِ مَسَاجِدَ مَسْجِدِى هَذَا وَمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَسْجِدِ الأَقْصَى ».

Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman said: “‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Sa‘eed Al-Khudri passed by me, and I said to him: What did your father say about the Masjid whose foundation was laid upon piety? He said: My father said: “I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) in the house of one of his wives and I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which of the two Masjid is the Masjid whose foundation was laid upon piety'?’ He picked up a handful of pebbles then he threw them on the ground and said: ‘lt is this Masjid of yours’ - referring to the Masjid of Al-Madinah. I said: ‘I bear witness that I heard your father saying that.”’

حَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْخَرَّاطِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ مَرَّ بِى عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِى سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِىِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ أَبَاكَ يَذْكُرُ فِى الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِى أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى قَالَ قَالَ أَبِى دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فِى بَيْتِ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ الْمَسْجِدَيْنِ الَّذِى أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى قَالَ فَأَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصْبَاءَ فَضَرَبَ بِهِ الأَرْضَ ثُمَّ قَالَ « هُوَ مَسْجِدُكُمْ هَذَا ». - لِمَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ - قَالَ فَقُلْتُ أَشْهَدُ أَنِّى سَمِعْتُ أَبَاكَ هَكَذَا يَذْكُرُهُ.
