It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is Haram. Whoever drinks Khamr in this world and dies when he is addicted to it and has not repented, will not drink it in the Hereafter."'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ ، قَالاَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ ، وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ ، وَمَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَمَاتَ وَهُوَ يُدْمِنُهَا لَمْ يَتُبْ ، لَمْ يَشْرَبْهَا فِي الآخِرَةِ.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Whoever drinks Khamr in this world will be denied it in the Hereafter."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا حُرِمَهَا فِي الآخِرَةِ.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Whoever drinks Khamr in this world will not drink it in the Hereafter, unless he repents."

وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ (ح) وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَمْ يَشْرَبْهَا فِي الآخِرَةِ ، إِلاَّ أَنْ يَتُوبَ.

Ibn 'Abbas said: "Nabidh would be made for the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) at the beginning of the night, and he would drink it the next morning, during that day and the night, then during the following day and night, and the next day until 'Asr. Then if there was anything left of it, he would give it to his servant to drink or order that it be poured away."

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْبَهْرَانِيِّ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنْتَبَذُ لَهُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَيَشْرَبُهُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ ، وَاللَّيْلَةَ الَّتِي تَجِيءُ ، وَالْغَدَ وَاللَّيْلَةَ الأُخْرَى ، وَالْغَدَ إِلَى الْعَصْرِ ، فَإِنْ بَقِيَ شَيْءٌ سَقَاهُ الْخَادِمَ ، أَوْ أَمَرَ بِهِ فَصُبَّ.

It was narrated that Yahya Al-Bahrani said: "They mentioned Nabidh in the presence of Ibn 'Abbas and he said: 'Nabidh would be made for him in a skin."' Shu'bah said: "On Monday night, and he would drink it on Monday and Tuesday until 'Asr, then if anything was left he would give it to his servant to drink or pour it away."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى الْبَهْرَانِيِّ ، قَالَ: ذَكَرُوا النَّبِيذَ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنْتَبَذُ لَهُ فِي سِقَاءٍ ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: مِنْ لَيْلَةِ الاِثْنَيْنِ فَيَشْرَبُهُ يَوْمَ الاِثْنَيْنِ ، وَالثُّلاَثَاءِ إِلَى الْعَصْرِ ، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ سَقَاهُ الْخَادِمَ ، أَوْ صَبَّهُ.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "Raisins would be steeped for the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) in a skin and he would drink it that day, the next day and the next day, then when evening came on the third day, he would drink it and give it to others to drink, and if there was anything left over, he would spill it out."

وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنْبَذُ لَهُ الزَّبِيبُ فِي السِّقَاءِ ، فَيَشْرَبُهُ يَوْمَهُ، وَالْغَدَ، وَبَعْدَ الْغَدِ، فَإِذَا كَانَ مَسَاءُ الثَّالِثَةِ شَرِبَهُ وَسَقَاهُ ، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ شَيْءٌ أَهَرَاقَهُ.

It was narrated that Yahya bin 'Umar Al-Nakha'i said: "Some people asked Ibn 'Abbas about buying and selling Khamr and dealing in it. He said: 'Are you Muslims?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'It is not permissible to buy it, sell it or deal in it.' They asked him about Nabidh and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) went out on a journey, then he came back and some of his Companions had made Nabidh in Al-Hantam, An-Naqir and gourds. He ordered that it be spilled out, then he ordered that raisins and water be put in a skin overnight. The next day he drank from it, and the following night, and the next day until evening came. He drank from it and gave it to others to drink, and the following morning he poured away whatever was left of it."'

وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى أَبِي عُمَرَ النَّخَعِيِّ ، قَالَ: سَأَلَ قَوْمٌ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْخَمْرِ وَشِرَائِهَا وَالتِّجَارَةِ فِيهَا ، فَقَالَ: أَمُسْلِمُونَ أَنْتُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَصْلُحُ بَيْعُهَا ، وَلاَ شِرَاؤُهَا، وَلاَ التِّجَارَةُ فِيهَا ، قَالَ: فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ ، فَقَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ وَقَدْ نَبَذَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي حَنَاتِمَ وَنَقِيرٍ وَدُبَّاءٍ ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَأُهْرِيقَ ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِسِقَاءٍ فَجُعِلَ فِيهِ زَبِيبٌ وَمَاءٌ ، فَجُعِلَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَصْبَحَ ، فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ وَلَيْلَتَهُ الْمُسْتَقْبَلَةَ ، وَمِنَ الْغَدِ حَتَّى أَمْسَى ، فَشَرِبَ وَسَقَى ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَمَرَ بِمَا بَقِيَ مِنْهُ فَأُهْرِيقَ.

Thumamah bin Hazan Al-Qushairi said: "I met 'Aishah and asked her about Nabidh. 'Aishah called an Abyssinian slave woman and said: "Ask her, for she used to make Nabidh for the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w).' The Abyssinian woman said: 'I used to make it for him in a skin at night, which I would tie shut and hang up, and when morning came he would drink from it.'"

حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْفَضْلِ الْحُدَّانِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثُمَامَةُ ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَزْنٍ الْقُشَيْرِيَّ ، قَالَ: لَقِيتُ عَائِشَةَ ، فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنِ النَّبِيذِ ، فَدَعَتْ عَائِشَةُ جَارِيَةً حَبَشِيَّةً ، فَقَالَتْ: سَلْ هَذِهِ ، فَإِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَنْبِذُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتِ الْحَبَشِيَّةُ: كُنْتُ أَنْبِذُ لَهُ فِي سِقَاءٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأُوكِيهِ وَأُعَلِّقُهُ ، فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "We used to make Nabidh for the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) in a skin that was tied at the top and had a plugged hole in the bottom. We would make the Nabidh in the morning, and he would drink it in the evening, or we would make it in the evening and he would drink it in the morning.''

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى الْعَنَزِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كُنَّا نَنْبِذُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سِقَاءٍ يُوكَى أَعْلاَهُ وَلَهُ عَزْلاَءُ ، نَنْبِذُهُ غُدْوَةً فَيَشْرَبُهُ عِشَاءً ، وَنَنْبِذُهُ عِشَاءً فَيَشْرَبُهُ غُدْوَةً.

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd said: "Abu Usaid As-Sa'idi invited the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) to his wedding, and his wife was serving them that day, and she was the bride.'' Sahl said: "Do you know what she gave the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) to drink? She steeped some dates for him the night before in a bowl made of stone, and when he had eaten she gave him that to drink."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ: دَعَا أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عُرْسِهِ ، فَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَادِمَهُمْ وَهِيَ الْعَرُوسُ ، قَالَ سَهْلٌ: تَدْرُونَ مَا سَقَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ أَنْقَعَتْ لَهُ تَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فِي تَوْرٍ ، فَلَمَّا أَكَلَ سَقَتْهُ إِيَّاهُ.
