It was narrated that Anas said: "The Iqamah was called for prayer, and the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) was conversing privately with a man. He did not get up to prayer until the people had fallen asleep."

حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ح و حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ وَنَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنَاجِي الرَّجُلَ فَمَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ.

It was narrated from 'Abdul-'Aziz bin Suhaib that he heard Anas bin Malik say: "The Iqamah was called for prayer, 'and the Prophet (s.a.w) was conversing privately with a man. He continued to speak with him until his Companions fell asleep, then he came and led them in prayer."

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنَاجِي رَجُلًا فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُنَاجِيهِ حَتَّى نَامَ أَصْحَابُهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ.

It was narrated from Shu'bah, from Qatadah who said: "I heard Anas say: 'The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) used to fall asleep, then they would offer Salat without performing Wudu'."' I said: "Did you hear it from Anas?'' He said: "Yes, by Allah."

و حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنَامُونَ ثُمَّ يُصَلُّونَ وَلَا يَتَوَضَّأُونَ قَالَ قُلْتُ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ؟ قَالَ: إِي وَاللَّهِ!.

It was narrated that Anas said: "The Iqamah for 'Isha' prayer was called, and a man said: 'I have a problem.' The Prophet (s.a.w) went to speak to him privately, until the people - or some of the people - fell asleep, then they prayed."

حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ صَخْرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أُقِيمَتْ صَلَاةُ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِي حَاجَةٌ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنَاجِيهِ حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ أَوْ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ ثُمَّ صَلَّوْا.
