الَّذِیْنَ یُكَذِّبُوْنَ بِیَوْمِ الدِّیْنِؕ۝۱۱

Who call the Day of judgement a lie!

وَ مَا یُكَذِّبُ بِهٖۤ اِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ اَثِیْمٍۙ۝۱۲

None denies it but the sinful transgressors.

اِذَا تُتْلٰی عَلَیْهِ اٰیٰتُنَا قَالَ اَسَاطِیْرُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَؕ۝۱۳

When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago."

كَلَّا بَلْ ٚ رَانَ عَلٰی قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا یَكْسِبُوْنَ۝۱۴

No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts.

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَّبِّهِمْ یَوْمَىِٕذٍ لَّمَحْجُوْبُوْنَؕ۝۱۵

Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day,

ثُمَّ اِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا الْجَحِیْمِؕ۝۱۶

Then they will indeed burn in Hell.

ثُمَّ یُقَالُ هٰذَا الَّذِیْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوْنَؕ۝۱۷

They will then be told: "This is what you had denied."

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الْاَبْرَارِ لَفِیْ عِلِّیِّیْنَؕ۝۱۸

Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun' (heights above the heights).

وَ مَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا عِلِّیُّوْنَؕ۝۱۹

But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun' is?

كِتٰبٌ مَّرْقُوْمٌۙ۝۲۰

It is a (repository of) distinctly written record
