یٰۤاَیُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُۙ۝۱

O YOU ENWRAPPED in the cloak (of Prophethood),

قُمِ الَّیْلَ اِلَّا قَلِیْلًاۙ۝۲

Keep watch all the night except some,

نِّصْفَهٗۤ اَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِیْلًاۙ۝۳

A half of it or a little less

اَوْ زِدْ عَلَیْهِ وَ رَتِّلِ الْقُرْاٰنَ تَرْتِیْلًاؕ۝۴

Or a little more, and recite the Qur´an slowly and distinctly.

اِنَّا سَنُلْقِیْ عَلَیْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِیْلًا۝۵

We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity).

اِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ الَّیْلِ هِیَ اَشَدُّ وَطْاً وَّ اَقْوَمُ قِیْلًاؕ۝۶

Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling.

اِنَّ لَكَ فِی النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِیْلًاؕ۝۷

Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations.

وَ اذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَ تَبَتَّلْ اِلَیْهِ تَبْتِیْلًاؕ۝۸

But recite the name of your Lord withdrawing yourself from everything, devoting yourself exclusively to Him.

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَ الْمَغْرِبِ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِیْلًا۝۹

He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector.

وَ اصْبِرْ عَلٰی مَا یَقُوْلُوْنَ وَ اهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِیْلًا۝۱۰

Bear with patience what they say, and gracefully come away from them.
