اَلْهٰىكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُۙ۝۱

THE AVARICE OF plenitude keeps you occupied

حَتّٰی زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَؕ۝۲

Till you reach the grave.

كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَۙ۝۳

But you will come to know soon; --

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَؕ۝۴

Indeed you will come to know soon.

كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ عِلْمَ الْیَقِیْنِؕ۝۵

And yet if you knew with positive knowledge

لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِیْمَۙ۝۶

You have indeed to behold Hell;

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَیْنَ الْیَقِیْۙنِ۝۷

Then you will see it with the eye of certainty.

ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ یَوْمَىِٕذٍ عَنِ النَّعِیْمِ۠۝۸

Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures.
