It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) stayed behind and I stayed behind with him. When he had relieved himself he said: 'Do you have any water with you?' I brought him a jug and he washed his hands and face, then he went to uncover his arms, but the sleeves of his cloak were too tight, so he brought his arms out from beneath the cloak and threw the cloak over his shoulders. Then he washed his hands and wiped over his forehead and wiped over his 'Imamah and his Khuff. Then he came to the people who had got up to pray, and they were being led in prayer by 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf, who had led them in one Rak'ah. When he realized that the Prophet (s.a.w) was there, he started to move backwards, but he (s.a.w) gestured to him (to stay where he was), so he led them in prayer. When he finished, the Prophet (s.a.w) and I stood up and prayed the Rak'ah that we had missed."

و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَخَلَّفْتُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى حَاجَتَهُ قَالَ أَمَعَكَ مَاءٌ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِمِطْهَرَةٍ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يَحْسِرُ عَنْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَضَاقَ كُمُّ الْجُبَّةِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ وَأَلْقَى الْجُبَّةَ عَلَى مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ وَعَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ وَعَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ وَرَكِبْتُ فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ وَقَدْ قَامُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ وَقَدْ رَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَهَبَ يَتَأَخَّرُ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقُمْتُ فَرَكَعْنَا الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْنَا.

It was narrated that Shuraih bin Hani' said: "I came to 'Aishah and asked her about wiping over the Khuff. She said: 'You should go to ('Ali) Ibn Abi Talib and ask him, for he used to travel with the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w).' So we asked him and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) set a limit of three days and their nights (i.e., three nights) for the traveler, and one day and night for one who is not traveling."

و حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمُلَائِيِّ عَنْ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ أَسْأَلُهَا عَنْ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَتْ عَلَيْكَ بِابْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَسَلْهُ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُسَافِرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ فَقَالَ جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ قَالَ وَكَانَ سُفْيَانُ إِذَا ذَكَرَ عَمْرًا أَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ.

It was narrated from Sulaiman bin Buraidah, from his father, that the Prophet (s.a.w) prayed all the prayers on the day of the Conquest (of Makkah) with one Wudu', and he wiped over his Khuff. 'Umar said to him: "Today you have done something that you did not do before." He said: "I did it deliberately, O 'Umar."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ح و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ لَقَدْ صَنَعْتَ الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَصْنَعُهُ قَالَ عَمْدًا صَنَعْتُهُ يَا عُمَرُ.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "When one of you wakes up from sleep, let him not put his hand in the vessel until he has washed it three times, for he does not know where his hand was during the night."

و حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ وَحَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ فَلَا يَغْمِسْ يَدَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'If a dog licks the vessel of any one of you, let him throw away its contents then wash it seven times."'

و حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ وَأَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيُرِقْهُ ثُمَّ لْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'The purification of the vessel of one of you, if a dog licks it, is to wash it seven times, the first time with mud."'

و حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَهُورُ إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ إِذَا وَلَغَ فِيهِ الْكَلْبُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ أُولَاهُنَّ بِالتُّرَابِ.

It was narrated that Ibn Al-Mughaffal said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) ordered the killing of dogs, then he said: 'What is the problem with them (the people) and the dogs?' Then he granted a concession with regard to hunting dogs and sheep dogs, and said: 'If a dog licks the vessel of one of you, let him wash it seven times and rub it with mud the eighth time."'

و حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ سَمِعَ مُطَرِّفَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُغَفَّلِ قَالَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَالُهُمْ وَبَالُ الْكِلَابِ ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَكَلْبِ الْغَنَمِ وَقَالَ إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَعَفِّرُوهُ الثَّامِنَةَ فِي التُّرَابِ.

It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) forbade urinating into standing water.

و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ح و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى أَنْ يُبَالَ فِي الْمَاءِ الرَّاكِدِ.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "None of you should urinate into standing water and then wash himself with it."

و حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ.

It was narrated from Abu As-Sa'ib, the freed slave of Hisham bin Zuhair that he heard Abu Hurairah saying: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'None of you should perform Ghusl in standing water when he is Junub (in a state of sexual impurity)."' He said: "What should he do, O Abu Hurairah?" He said: "Let him scoop it out in handfuls."

و حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ وَأَبُو الطَّاهِرِ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى جَمِيعًا عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ هَارُونُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ أَنَّ أَبَا السَّائِبِ مَوْلَى هِشَامِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَغْتَسِلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ يَفْعَلُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ يَتَنَاوَلُهُ تَنَاوُلًا.
