It was narrated from Ibn Al-Musayyab that Abu Hurairah said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: 'Swearing helps one to sell the goods but it erases (the blessing of) the profit."'

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَفْوَانَ الأُمَوِىُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ وَحَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « الْحَلِفُ مَنْفَقَةٌ لِلسِّلْعَةِ مَمْحَقَةٌ لِلرِّبْحِ ».

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari that he heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: "Beware of swearing a great deal when selling, for it brings about a sale, then erases (the blessing)."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِى قَتَادَةَ الأَنْصَارِىِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « إِيَّاكُمْ وَكَثْرَةَ الْحَلِفِ فِى الْبَيْعِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَفِّقُ ثُمَّ يَمْحَقُ ».

It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Whoever has a partner in property or palm trees, he should not sell until he notifies his partner; if he agrees he may take it, and if he disagrees he may leave it."'

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِى الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِى رَبْعَةٍ أَوْ نَخْلٍ فَلَيْسَ لَهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَتَّى يُؤْذِنَ شَرِيكَهُ فَإِنْ رَضِىَ أَخَذَ وَإِنْ كَرِهَ تَرَكَ ».

It was narrated that Jabir said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) decreed pre-emption in every partnership that has not been divided, whether it is a dwelling or a garden. It is not permissible for him to sell it until he notifies his partner, and if he wishes, he may take it, and if he wishes, he may leave it. If he sells it and he did not give permission, then he has more right to it."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ نُمَيْرٍ - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِى الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بِالشُّفْعَةِ فِى كُلِّ شِرْكَةٍ لَمْ تُقْسَمْ رَبْعَةٍ أَوْ حَائِطٍ. لاَ يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَتَّى يُؤْذِنَ شَرِيكَهُ فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَخَذَ وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ فَإِذَا بَاعَ وَلَمْ يُؤْذِنْهُ فَهْوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "No one of you should prevent his neighbor from fixing a piece of wood to his wall." Then Abu Hurairah said: "Why do I see you objecting to it? By Allah, I will keep reminding you of it."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « لاَ يَمْنَعْ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِى جِدَارِهِ ». قَالَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِى أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللَّهِ لأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ.

It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Whoever seizes a handspan of land unlawfully, Allah will shackle his neck with it, to seven earths on the Day of Resurrection."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعَلِىُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِىِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ شِبْرًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ ظُلْمًا طَوَّقَهُ اللَّهُ إِيَّاهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ ».

It was narrated from 'Umar bin Muhammad, that his father narrated to him from Sa'eed bin Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail, that Arwa disputed with him about part of his house and he said: "Let her take it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: 'Whoever seizes a handspan of land unlawfully, his neck will be shackled to seven earths on the Day of Resurrection.' O Allah, if she is lying, take away her sight and make her grave in her house." He said: "I saw her blind, clinging to the walls and saying: 'The supplication of Sa'eed bin Zaid afflicted me.' While she was walking in the house, she came to a well in the house and fell in, and it became her grave."

حَدَّثَنِى حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِى عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ أَنَّ أَرْوَى خَاصَمَتْهُ فِى بَعْضِ دَارِهِ فَقَالَ دَعُوهَا وَإِيَّاهَا فَإِنِّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « مَنْ أَخَذَ شِبْرًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ طُوِّقَهُ فِى سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ». اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَتْ كَاذِبَةً فَأَعْمِ بَصَرَهَا وَاجْعَلْ قَبْرَهَا فِى دَارِهَا. قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهَا عَمْيَاءَ تَلْتَمِسُ الْجُدُرَ تَقُولُ أَصَابَتْنِى دَعْوَةُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ. فَبَيْنَمَا هِىَ تَمْشِى فِى الدَّارِ مَرَّتْ عَلَى بِئْرٍ فِى الدَّارِ فَوَقَعَتْ فِيهَا فَكَانَتْ قَبْرَهَا.

It was narrated from Hisham bin 'Urwah, from his father, that Arwa bint Uwais claimed that Sa'eed bin Zaid had taken some of her land, and she referred her dispute with him to Marwan bin Al-Hakam. Sa'eed said: "Would I take any of her land after what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)?" He said: "What did you hear from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: 'Whoever takes a handspan of land unlawfully, his neck will be shackled to seven earths."' Marwan said to him: "I will not ask you for any proof after this.'' He (Sa'eed) said: "O Allah, if she is lying then make her eyes blind and cause her to die in her own land." And she did not die until her sight was gone, then while she was walking on her land she fell into a pit and died.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْعَتَكِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ أَرْوَى بِنْتَ أُوَيْسٍ ادَّعَتْ عَلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَنَّهُ أَخَذَ شَيْئًا مِنْ أَرْضِهَا فَخَاصَمَتْهُ إِلَى مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ. فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ أَنَا كُنْتُ آخُذُ مِنْ أَرْضِهَا شَيْئًا بَعْدَ الَّذِى سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ وَمَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « مَنْ أَخَذَ شِبْرًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ ظُلْمًا طُوِّقَهُ إِلَى سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ ». فَقَالَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ لاَ أَسْأَلُكَ بَيِّنَةً بَعْدَ هَذَا. فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَتْ كَاذِبَةً فَعَمِّ بَصَرَهَا وَاقْتُلْهَا فِى أَرْضِهَا. قَالَ فَمَا مَاتَتْ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهَا ثُمَّ بَيْنَا هِىَ تَمْشِى فِى أَرْضِهَا إِذْ وَقَعَتْ فِى حُفْرَةٍ فَمَاتَتْ.

It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Zaid said: "I heard the Prophet (s.a.w) say: 'Whoever seizes a handspan of land unlawfully, his neck will be shackled to seven earths on the Day of Resurrection."'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ بْنِ أَبِى زَائِدَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « مَنْ أَخَذَ شِبْرًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ ظُلْمًا فَإِنَّهُ يُطَوَّقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ ».

it was narrated from Muhammad bin Ibrahim that Abu Salamah, who had a dispute with his people concerning some land, told him that he entered upon 'Aishah and told her about that. She said: "O Abu Salamah, stay away from this land, for the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Whoever wrongs another with regard to (even) a handspan of land, his neck will be shackled to seven earths"'

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ - يَعْنِى ابْنَ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ - حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ شَدَّادٍ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى - وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِى كَثِيرٍ - عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ وَكَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِهِ خُصُومَةٌ فِى أَرْضٍ وَأَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا أَبَا سَلَمَةَ اجْتَنِبِ الأَرْضَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « مَنْ ظَلَمَ قِيدَ شِبْرٍ مِنَ الأَرْضِ طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ ».
