Read All Ahadith In The Book Of muslim

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Whoever manumits his share of a slave, let him manumit him completely with his own money if he has money, and if he does not have money, let the slave work for his manumission, without being overburdened."

وَحَدَّثَنِى عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِى عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شَقِيصًا لَهُ فِى عَبْدٍ فَخَلاَصُهُ فِى مَالِهِ إِنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ اسْتُسْعِىَ الْعَبْدُ غَيْرَ مَشْقُوقٍ عَلَيْهِ ».

It was narrated from Ibn Abi 'Arubah with (a different chain, a Hadith similar to no. 4333). In the Hadith of 'Eisa it says: "Then let him work for the manumission of the part that has not been freed, without being overburdened."

وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِىُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلِىُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِى عَرُوبَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ. وَفِى حَدِيثِ عِيسَى « ثُمَّ يُسْتَسْعَى فِى نَصِيبِ الَّذِى لَمْ يُعْتِقْ غَيْرَ مَشْقُوقٍ عَلَيْهِ ».

It was narrated from 'Imran bin Husain that a man declared that six slaves of his would be set free when he died, but he did not have any other wealth apart from them. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) called for them and divided them into three groups, then he cast lots among them, freeing two and leaving four as slaves, and he spoke harsh words to him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِىُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِىُّ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ - عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِى قِلاَبَةَ عَنْ أَبِى الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ. أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَدَعَا بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَجَزَّأَهُمْ أَثْلاَثًا ثُمَّ أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً وَقَالَ لَهُ قَوْلاً شَدِيدًا.

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that a man among the Ansar declared that a slave of his would become free after he died, and he did not own any other wealth apart from the slave. News of that reached the Prophet (s.a.w) and he said: "Who will buy him from me?" Nu'aim bin 'Abdullah bought him for a price of eight hundred Dirham, and he gave it to him. 'Amr said: "I heard Jabir bin 'Abdullah say: 'He was a Coptic slave who died last year."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ - يَعْنِى ابْنَ زَيْدٍ - عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ غُلاَمًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ « مَنْ يَشْتَرِيهِ مِنِّى ». فَاشْتَرَاهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِثَمَانِمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِ. قَالَ عَمْرٌو سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ عَبْدًا قِبْطِيًّا مَاتَ عَامَ أَوَّلَ.

Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah narrated: "'Amr heard Jabir say: 'A man among the Ansar declared that a slave of his would become free after he died, and he did not own any other wealth apart from him. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) sold him."' Jabir said: "Ibn An-Nahham bought him, a Coptic slave who died last year, during the governorship of Ibn Az-Zubair."

وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ سَمِعَ عَمْرٌو جَابِرًا يَقُولُ دَبَّرَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ غُلاَمًا لَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ فَبَاعَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم-. قَالَ جَابِرٌ فَاشْتَرَاهُ ابْنُ النَّحَّامِ عَبْدًا قِبْطِيًّا مَاتَ عَامَ أَوَّلَ فِى إِمَارَةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ.
