Read All Ahadith In The Book Of muslim

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and said: 'Which of the people is most deserving of my best companionship?' He said: 'Your mother.' He said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Then your mother.' He said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Then your mother.' He said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Then your father.'" In the Hadith of Qutaibah it says: "Who is most deserving of my best companionship?" And he did not say: "Which of the people?"

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جَمِيلِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالاَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَحَقُّ النَّاسِ بِحُسْنِ صَحَابَتِي ؟ قَالَ: أُمُّكَ قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ: ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ: ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ. وَفِي حَدِيثِ قُتَيْبَةَ: مَنْ أَحَقُّ بِحُسْنِ صَحَابَتِي وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ النَّاسَ.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is most deserving of my best companionship?' He said: 'Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then the next closest and the next closest.'"

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، مَنْ أَحَقُّ النَّاسِ بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ ؟ قَالَ: أُمُّكَ ، ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ ، ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ ، ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ ، ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ أَدْنَاكَ.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "A man came to the Prophet (s.a.w) and asked him for permission to go for Jihad. He said: 'Are your parents alive?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: "'Then your Jihad is with them."'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالاَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ (ح) وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، وَشُعْبَةَ ، قَالاَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ فَقَالَ: أَحَيٌّ وَالِدَاكَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ، قَالَ: فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ.

'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As said: "A man came to the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w) and said: 'I swear my allegiance to you, that I will migrate and engage in Jihad, seeking reward from Allah.' He (s.a.w) said: 'Are either of your parents alive?' He said: 'Yes, both of them.' He said: 'Are you seeking reward from Allah?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then go back to your parents and be a good companion to them."'

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّ نَاعِمًا ، مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ: أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَالْجِهَادِ ، أَبْتَغِي الأَجْرَ مِنَ اللهِ ، قَالَ: فَهَلْ مِنْ وَالِدَيْكَ أَحَدٌ حَيٌّ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ، بَلْ كِلاَهُمَا ، قَالَ: فَتَبْتَغِي الأَجْرَ مِنَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ، قَالَ: فَارْجِعْ إِلَى وَالِدَيْكَ فَأَحْسِنْ صُحْبَتَهُمَا.

It was narrated from Abu Rafi' that Abu Hurairah said: "Juraij used to worship in his hermitage, and his mother came to him." Humaid said: "Abu Rafi' described to us how the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) described his mother when she called him, how she put her hand on her forehead then raised her head to call him. "She said: 'O Juraij! I am your mother, speak to me.' She found him praying and he said: 'O Allah, my mother or my prayer?' And he chose his prayer. She went away, then she came back a second time, and said: 'O Juraij! I am your mother, speak to me.' He said: 'O Allah, my mother or my prayer?' And he chose his prayer. She said: 'O Allah, this is Juraij and he is my son, and I spoke to him but he refused to speak to me. O Allah, do not let him die until he has seen prostitutes.'" He said: "If she had prayed that he be tempted, he would have fallen prey to temptation. There was a shepherd who lived near his hermitage, and a woman came out of the village and he had intercourse with her. She became pregnant and gave birth to a boy. It was said to her: 'What is this?' She said: 'From the one who lives in this hermitage.' They came with their axes and shovels and called him, and they found him praying, and he did not speak to them. They started to destroy his hermitage, and when he saw that, he came down to them, and they said to him: 'Ask this woman.' He smiled and patted the child on the head and said: 'Who is your father?' He said: 'My father is the shepherd.' When they heard that from him they said: 'We will rebuild what we have destroyed of your hermitage with gold and silver.' He said: 'No; just put it back as it was, with clay.' Then he went up to it.''

حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلاَلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ جُرَيْجٌ يَتَعَبَّدُ فِي صَوْمَعَةٍ ، فَجَاءَتْ أُمُّهُ. قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ : فَوَصَفَ لَنَا أَبُو رَافِعٍ صِفَةَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ لِصِفَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمَّهُ حِينَ دَعَتْهُ ، كَيْفَ جَعَلَتْ كَفَّهَا فَوْقَ حَاجِبِهَا ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَتْ رَأْسَهَا إِلَيْهِ تَدْعُوهُ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا جُرَيْجُ أَنَا أُمُّكَ كَلِّمْنِي فَصَادَفَتْهُ يُصَلِّي ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ أُمِّي وَصَلاَتِي ، فَاخْتَارَ صَلاَتَهُ ، فَرَجَعَتْ ، ثُمَّ عَادَتْ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا جُرَيْجُ أَنَا أُمُّكَ فَكَلِّمْنِي ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ أُمِّي وَصَلاَتِي ، فَاخْتَارَ صَلاَتَهُ ، فَقَالَتْ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا جُرَيْجٌ وَهُوَ ابْنِي وَإِنِّي كَلَّمْتُهُ ، فَأَبَى أَنْ يُكَلِّمَنِي ، اللَّهُمَّ فَلاَ تُمِتْهُ حَتَّى تُرِيَهُ الْمُومِسَاتِ.قَالَ: وَلَوْ دَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يُفْتَنَ لَفُتِنَ.قَالَ: وَكَانَ رَاعِي ضَأْنٍ يَأْوِي إِلَى دَيْرِهِ،قَالَ: فخَرَجَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْقَرْيَةِ فَوَقَعَ عَلَيْهَا الرَّاعِي، فَحَمَلَتْ فَوَلَدَتْ غُلاَمًا ، فَقِيلَ لَهَا : مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالَتْ: مِنْ صَاحِبِ هَذَا الدَّيْرِ ، قَالَ فَجَاؤُوا بِفُؤُوسِهِمْ وَمَسَاحِيهِمْ ، فَنَادَوْهُ فَصَادَفُوهُ يُصَلِّي ، فَلَمْ يُكَلِّمْهُمْ ، قَالَ: فَأَخَذُوا يَهْدِمُونَ دَيْرَهُ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ نَزَلَ إِلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ : سَلْ هَذِهِ ، قَالَ فَتَبَسَّمَ ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَ الصَّبِيِّ فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَبُوكَ ؟ قَالَ: أَبِي رَاعِي الضَّأْنِ ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ قَالُوا: نَبْنِي مَا هَدَمْنَا مِنْ دَيْرِكَ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ ، قَالَ: لاَ ، وَلَكِنْ أَعِيدُوهُ تُرَابًا كَمَا كَانَ ، ثُمَّ عَلاَهُ.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "May his nose be rubbed in the dust, may his nose be rubbed in the dust, may his nose be rubbed in the dust." It was said: "Who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "The one whose parents, one or both of them, reach old age during his lifetime and he does not enter Paradise."

حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ، ثُمَّ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ، ثُمَّ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ، قِيلَ: مَنْ ؟ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، قَالَ: مَنْ أَدْرَكَ أَبَوَيْهِ عِنْدَ الْكِبَرِ ، أَحَدَهُمَا ، أَوْ كِلَيْهِمَا فَلَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Dinar that a Bedouin man met 'Abdullah bin 'Umar on the road to Makkah, and 'Abdullah greeted him, mounted him on a donkey that he had been riding, and gave him a turban that was on his head. Ibn Dinar said: "We said to him: 'May Allah guide you. They are Bedouin and they are content with little.' 'Abdullah (Ibn 'Umar) said: 'The father of this man was a friend of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, and I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: The best act of Birr is for a child to uphold ties with the friends of his father.'"

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَرْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنَ الأَعْرَابِ لَقِيَهُ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ ، وَحَمَلَهُ عَلَى حِمَارٍ كَانَ يَرْكَبُهُ. وَأَعْطَاهُ عِمَامَةً ، كَانَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ دِينَارٍ : فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُمُ الأَعْرَابُ وَإِنَّهُمْ يَرْضَوْنَ بِالْيَسِيرِ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: إِنَّ أَبَا هَذَا كَانَ وُدًّا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ أَبَرَّ الْبِرِّ صِلَةُ الْوَلَدِ أَهْلَ وُدِّ أَبِيهِ.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "The best act of Birr is for a man to uphold ties with the friends of his father."

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: أَبَرُّ الْبِرِّ أَنْ يَصِلَ الرَّجُلُ وُدَّ أَبِيهِ.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Dinar that when Ibn 'Umar set out for Makkah, he had a donkey with him that he would ride for a change when he was tired of riding his camel, and he had a turban that he tied on his head. One day while he was riding that donkey, a Bedouin passed by him and he said: 'Aren't you so-and-so the son of so-and-so?' He said: 'Yes.' He gave him the donkey and said: 'Ride this,' and he gave him the turban and said: 'Tie this around your head.' Some of his companions said to him: 'May Allah forgive you, you have given this Bedouin a donkey that you were riding for a change and a turban that you had tied around your head.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: "One of the best acts of Birr is for a man to uphold ties with the friends of his father after he (the father) dies." And his father was a friend of 'Umar's.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَاللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ ، كَانَ لَهُ حِمَارٌ يَتَرَوَّحُ عَلَيْهِ ، إِذَا مَلَّ رُكُوبَ الرَّاحِلَةِ وَعِمَامَةٌ يَشُدُّ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ ، فَبَيْنَا هُوَ يَوْمًا عَلَى ذَلِكَ الْحِمَارِ ، إِذْ مَرَّ بِهِ أَعْرَابِيٌّ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَسْتَ ابْنَ فُلاَنِ بْنِ فُلاَنٍ ، قَالَ: بَلَى ، فَأَعْطَاهُ الْحِمَارَ ، وَقَالَ: ارْكَبْ هَذَا وَالْعِمَامَةَ ، قَالَ: اشْدُدْ بِهَا رَأْسَكَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَعْطَيْتَ هَذَا الأَعْرَابِيَّ حِمَارًا كُنْتَ تَرَوَّحُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَعِمَامَةً كُنْتَ تَشُدُّ بِهَا رَأْسَكَ ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ مِنْ أَبَرِّ الْبِرِّ صِلَةَ الرَّجُلِ أَهْلَ وُدِّ أَبِيهِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يُوَلِّيَ وَإِنَّ أَبَاهُ كَانَ صَدِيقًا لِعُمَرَ.

It was narrated that An-Nawwas bin Sam'an Al-Ansari said: "I asked the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) about righteousness and sin, and he said: 'Al-Birr (righteousness) is a good character, and sin is that which wavers in your heart and you do not want the people to find out about it."'

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سِمْعَانَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ الْبِرِّ وَالإِثْمِ فَقَالَ: الْبِرُّ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ ، وَالإِثْمُ مَا حَاكَ فِي صَدْرِكَ ، وَكَرِهْتَ أَنْ يَطَّلِعَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ.
