نٓ وَ الْقَلَمِ وَ مَا یَسْطُرُوْنَۙ۝۱

NUN. I CALL to witness the pen and what they inscribe,

مَاۤ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُوْنٍۚ۝۲

You are not demented by the grace of your Lord.

وَ اِنَّ لَكَ لَاَجْرًا غَیْرَ مَمْنُوْنٍۚ۝۳

There is surely reward unending for you,

وَ اِنَّكَ لَعَلٰی خُلُقٍ عَظِیْمٍ۝۴

For you are verily born of sublime nature.

فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَ یُبْصِرُوْنَۙ۝۵

So you will see, and they will realise,

بِاَىیِّكُمُ الْمَفْتُوْنُ۝۶

Who is distracted.

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِیْلِهٖ ۪ وَ هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِیْنَ۝۷

Verily your Lord knows those who have gone astray from His path, and He knows those who are guided on the way.

فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ۝۸

So do not comply with those who deny:

وَدُّوْا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَیُدْهِنُوْنَ۝۹

They only want that you should relent, so that they may come to terms.

وَ لَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِیْنٍۙ۝۱۰

Do not heed a contemptible swearer,
