فَاِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَاِنَّا مِنْهُمْ مُّنْتَقِمُوْنَۙ۝۴۱

We shall punish them whether We take you away,

اَوْ نُرِیَنَّكَ الَّذِیْ وَعَدْنٰهُمْ فَاِنَّا عَلَیْهِمْ مُّقْتَدِرُوْنَ۝۴۲

Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power.

فَاسْتَمْسِكْ بِالَّذِیْۤ اُوْحِیَ اِلَیْكَ ۚ اِنَّكَ عَلٰی صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِیْمٍ۝۴۳

So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path.

وَ اِنَّهٗ لَذِكْرٌ لَّكَ وَ لِقَوْمِكَ ۚ وَ سَوْفَ تُسْـَٔلُوْنَ۝۴۴

It is a (source) of greatness for you and your people. You will surely be questioned about it.

وَ سْـَٔلْ مَنْ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْ رُّسُلِنَاۤ اَجَعَلْنَا مِنْ دُوْنِ الرَّحْمٰنِ اٰلِهَةً یُّعْبَدُوْنَ۠۝۴۵

Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman.

وَ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا مُوْسٰی بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ اِلٰی فِرْعَوْنَ وَ مَلَاۡىِٕهٖ فَقَالَ اِنِّیْ رَسُوْلُ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ۝۴۶

We sent Moses with Our signs to the Pharaoh and his nobles. He said: "I have been sent by the Lord of all the worlds."

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ اِذَا هُمْ مِّنْهَا یَضْحَكُوْنَ۝۴۷

But when he brought to them Our signs they laughed at them,

وَ مَا نُرِیْهِمْ مِّنْ اٰیَةٍ اِلَّا هِیَ اَكْبَرُ مِنْ اُخْتِهَا ؗ وَ اَخَذْنٰهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ یَرْجِعُوْنَ۝۴۸

(Even though) each miracle that We showed them was greater than the other. So We seized them with chastisement so that they may turn back.

وَ قَالُوْا یٰۤاَیُّهَ السّٰحِرُ ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَ ۚ اِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُوْنَ۝۴۹

But they said: "O sorcerer, call on your Lord for us in accordance with the compact He has made with you. We shall certainly come to guidance."

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابَ اِذَا هُمْ یَنْكُثُوْنَ۝۵۰

Yet no sooner did We take away the affliction from them than they broke their pledge.
