وَ مَا یَاْتِیْهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ یَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ۝۱۱

But never once an apostle came to them at whom they did not scoff.

كَذٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهٗ فِیْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَۙ۝۱۲

We place in the hearts of sinners (disbelief).

لَا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ وَ قَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ۝۱۳

So, they will not believe in it: The example of former people is there.

وَ لَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوْا فِیْهِ یَعْرُجُوْنَۙ۝۱۴

Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight,

لَقَالُوْۤا اِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ اَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُوْرُوْنَ۠۝۱۵

They will say all the same: "Our eyes were dazed (and clouded over). We were a people ensorcelled."

وَ لَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِی السَّمَآءِ بُرُوْجًا وَّ زَیَّنّٰهَا لِلنّٰظِرِیْنَۙ۝۱۶

We have placed the signs of the Zodiac in the sky, and decked it out for those who can see;

وَ حَفِظْنٰهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَیْطٰنٍ رَّجِیْمٍۙ۝۱۷

And We have preserved it from every accursed devil,

اِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَاَتْبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ مُّبِیْنٌ۝۱۸

Except the ones who listen on the sly, yet they are chased away by a shooting flame.

وَ الْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا وَ اَلْقَیْنَا فِیْهَا رَوَاسِیَ وَ اَنْۢبَتْنَا فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَیْءٍ مَّوْزُوْنٍ۝۱۹

We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers, and made all things grow upon it balanced evenly.

وَ جَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِیْهَا مَعَایِشَ وَ مَنْ لَّسْتُمْ لَهٗ بِرٰزِقِیْنَ۝۲۰

We have provided on it sustenance for you, and for those you cannot provide.
