وَ نَبِّئْهُمْ عَنْ ضَیْفِ اِبْرٰهِیْمَۘ۝۵۱

Inform them about the matter of Abraham´s guests.

اِذْ دَخَلُوْا عَلَیْهِ فَقَالُوْا سَلٰمًا ؕ قَالَ اِنَّا مِنْكُمْ وَ جِلُوْنَ۝۵۲

When they came to him and said: "Peace," he answered: "Truly we are afraid of you."

قَالُوْا لَا تَوْجَلْ اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِیْمٍ۝۵۳

"Have no fear," they said. "We bring you news of a son full of wisdom."

قَالَ اَبَشَّرْتُمُوْنِیْ عَلٰۤی اَنْ مَّسَّنِیَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُوْنَ۝۵۴

"You bring me the good news now," he said, "when old age has come upon me. What good news are you giving me then?"

قَالُوْا بَشَّرْنٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْقٰنِطِیْنَ۝۵۵

"We have given you the happy tidings of a truth," they replied. "So do not be one of those who despair."

قَالَ وَ مَنْ یَّقْنَطُ مِنْ رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهٖۤ اِلَّا الضَّآلُّوْنَ۝۵۶

"Who would despair of the mercy of his Lord," he answered, "but those who go astray."

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ اَیُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ۝۵۷

And asked them: "What matter, O angels, brings you here?"

قَالُوْۤا اِنَّاۤ اُرْسِلْنَاۤ اِلٰی قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِیْنَۙ۝۵۸

"We have been sent," they said, "to (punish) a sinful people,

اِلَّاۤ اٰلَ لُوْطٍ ؕ اِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوْهُمْ اَجْمَعِیْنَۙ۝۵۹

"Except the family of Lot whom we shall save

اِلَّا امْرَاَتَهٗ قَدَّرْنَاۤ ۙ اِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغٰبِرِیْنَ۠۝۶۰

"Other than his wife who, it is decreed, will remain with those who will stay behind."
