وَ تَذَرُوْنَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِّنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ ؕ بَلْ اَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ عٰدُوْنَ۝۱۶۶

Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds."

قَالُوْا لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ تَنْتَهِ یٰلُوْطُ لَتَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِیْنَ۝۱۶۷

They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)."

قَالَ اِنِّیْ لِعَمَلِكُمْ مِّنَ الْقَالِیْنَؕ۝۱۶۸

(Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions,"

رَبِّ نَجِّنِیْ وَ اَهْلِیْ مِمَّا یَعْمَلُوْنَ۝۱۶۹

(And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do."

فَنَجَّیْنٰهُ وَ اَهْلَهٗۤ اَجْمَعِیْنَۙ۝۱۷۰

So We saved him and his whole family

اِلَّا عَجُوْزًا فِی الْغٰبِرِیْنَۚ۝۱۷۱

Except one old woman who remained behind.

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْاٰخَرِیْنَۚ۝۱۷۲

Then We destroyed the rest of them,

وَ اَمْطَرْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ مَّطَرًا ۚ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنْذَرِیْنَ۝۱۷۳

And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned!

اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةً ؕ وَ مَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِیْنَ۝۱۹۰

Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe.

وَ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الرَّحِیْمُ۠۝۱۷۵

Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful.
