اَمَدَّكُمْ بِاَنْعَامٍ وَّ بَنِیْنَۚۙ۝۱۳۳

Gave you increase of cattle and sons,

وَ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ عُیُوْنٍۚ۝۱۳۴

And orchards and springs.

اِنِّیْۤ اَخَافُ عَلَیْكُمْ عَذَابَ یَوْمٍ عَظِیْمٍؕ۝۱۳۵

I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you.

قَالُوْا سَوَآءٌ عَلَیْنَاۤ اَوَ عَظْتَ اَمْ لَمْ تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْوٰعِظِیْنَۙ۝۱۳۶

They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn.

اِنْ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا خُلُقُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَۙ۝۱۳۷

This is just a habit of antiquated people.

وَ مَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِیْنَۚ۝۱۳۸

We are not going to be damned."

فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَاَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ ؕ اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةً ؕ وَ مَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِیْنَ۝۱۳۹

Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe.

وَ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الرَّحِیْمُ۠۝۱۴۰

Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful.

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُوْدُ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَۚۖ۝۱۴۱

The Thamud accused the messengers of lies.

اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ صٰلِحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَۚ۝۱۴۲

When their brother Saleh said to them: "Will you not take heed?"
