It was narrated that Abu Sa‘eed Al-Khudri said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel a journey of three days or more, unless she has her father with her, or her son, her husband, her brother or a Mahram of hers.”’

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ جَمِيعًا - عَنْ أَبِى مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ - عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِى صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِى سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِىِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ سَفَرًا يَكُونُ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَصَاعِدًا إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا أَبُوهَا أَوِ ابْنُهَا أَوْ زَوْجُهَا أَوْ أَخُوهَا أَوْ ذُو مَحْرَمٍ مِنْهَا ».

It was narrated from Abu Ma’bad: I heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: I heard the Prophet (SAW) delivering a Khutbah and saying: “No man should be alone with a woman without there being a Mahram present, and no woman should travel unless she has a Mahrarn with her.” A man stood up and said: “O Messenger of Allah, my wife has set out for Hajj and I have enlisted for such and such a campaign.” He said: “Go and perform Hajj' with your wife.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ - قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ - حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِى مَعْبَدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَخْطُبُ يَقُولُ « لاَ يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ وَلاَ تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ إِلاَّ مَعَ ذِى مَحْرَمٍ ». فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ امْرَأَتِى خَرَجَتْ حَاجَّةً وَإِنِّى اكْتُتِبْتُ فِى غَزْوَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا. قَالَ « انْطَلِقْ فَحُجَّ مَعَ امْرَأَتِكَ ».

‘Ali Al-Azdi narrated that Ibn ‘Umar taught them that when the Messenger of Allah (SAW) mounted his camel and set out on a journey, he would say the Takbir three times, then say: “Subhan Allah alladhi sakhkhara lana lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila rabbinna I-munqalibun Allaihumma [inna] nas’aluka fi safarina hadha al-birra wat-taqwa. Allahumma hawwin ‘alaina safarana hadha watwi ‘anna bu'dahu. Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safari, wal-khalifatu fil-ahli Allahumma inni a ‘udhu bika min wa’tha’is-safari wa kabatil-manzari wa suw’il-munqalab fil-mali wal-ahli (Glory be to Allah Who has placed this (transport) at our service and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny. O Allah, [we] ask You for righteousness and piety in this journey of ours, and We ask You for deeds which please You. O Allah, make our journey easy and let us cover its distance quickly. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Successor (the One Who guards them in a person’s absence) over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the difficulties of travel, from becoming distressed and an ill-fated outcome with regard to wealth and family.)” And when he returned, he said the same words and added: “A’ibuna ta’ibuna ‘abiduna lirabbina hamidun (Returning, repenting, worshipping and praising our Lord.)”

حَدَّثَنِى هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِى أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا الأَزْدِىَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَلَّمَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَوَى عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ خَارِجًا إِلَى سَفَرٍ كَبَّرَ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ « سُبْحَانَ الَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِى سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِى السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِى الأَهْلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِى الْمَالِ وَالأَهْلِ ». وَإِذَا رَجَعَ قَالَهُنَّ. وَزَادَ فِيهِنَّ « آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ ».

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Sarjis said: “When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) traveled, he would seek refuge with Allah from the hardships of travel, from bad consequences, from a bad situation after a good situation, from the supplication of one who has been wronged, and from an ill-fated outcome with regard to family and wealth.”

حَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إِذَا سَافَرَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ وَالْحَوْرِ بَعْدَ الْكَوْرِ وَدَعْوَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ وَسُوءِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِى الأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ.

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar said: “When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) returned from a battle or expedition, or from Hajj' or ‘Umrah, when he reached the top of a hillock or high ground, he would say the Takbir three times, then he would say: ‘La ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir, a’ibuna ta’ibuna ‘abiduna sajiduna lirabbina hamidun, sadaq Allahu wa‘dahu wa nasara ‘abdahu wa hazamal-ahzaba wahdah (There is none worthy of worship but Allah alone, with no partner or associate, His is the Dominion, to Him be praise, and He has power over all things. Returning, repenting, worshipping and prostrating to our Lord and praising Him. Allah has fulfilled His promise, supported His slave and defeated the confederates alone.)”’

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى - وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ - عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إِذَا قَفَلَ مِنَ الْجُيُوشِ أَوِ السَّرَايَا أَوِ الْحَجِّ أَوِ الْعُمْرَةِ إِذَا أَوْفَى عَلَى ثَنِيَّةٍ أَوْ فَدْفَدٍ كَبَّرَ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ « لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ سَاجِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ ».

Anas Bin Malik said: “We came with the Prophet (SAW), Abu Talha and I, and Safiyyah was riding behind on his camel. Then when we were on the outskirts of Al-Madinah he said: ‘A’ibuna ta’ibuna, abiduna lirabbina hamidun (Returning, repenting, worshipping and praising our Lord)’ and he kept saying it until we entered Al-Madinah”

وَحَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِى إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَنَا وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ. وَصَفِيَّةُ رَدِيفَتُهُ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِظَهْرِ الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ « آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ ». فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ.

It was narrated from Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar, from his father, that someone came to The Prophet (SAW) when he stopped in Dhul-Hulaifah at the bottom of the valley, and it was said :” You are on blessed stony ground(Batha). ”Musa Said:”Salim made his camel kneel near the Masijd where Abdullah used to stop, seeking the place where The Messenger of Allah (SAW) stopped, which is lower than the Masjid in the Bottom of the valley, between it and the Qiblah, in the middle. ”

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ وَسُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لِسُرَيْجٍ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنِى مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أُتِىَ وَهُوَ فِى مُعَرَّسِهِ مِنْ ذِى الْحُلَيْفَةِ فِى بَطْنِ الْوَادِى فَقِيلَ إِنَّكَ بِبَطْحَاءَ مُبَارَكَةٍ. قَالَ مُوسَى وَقَدْ أَنَاخَ بِنَا سَالِمٌ بِالْمُنَاخِ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِى كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يُنِيخُ بِهِ يَتَحَرَّى مُعَرَّسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وَهُوَ أَسْفَلُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِى بِبَطْنِ الْوَادِى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ وَسَطًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “During the Hajj that The Messenger Of Allah(SAW) appointed him in charge of, before the Farewell Pilgrimage, Abu Bakr As-Saddiq sent me among a group of people to announce the people on the day of Sacrifice: ‘After this year no idolator may perform Hajj, and no naked person may circumambulate the House’”Ibn Shihab said:”Humaid bin Abdur-Rahman used to say: ‘The day of sacrifice is the greatest day of Hajj, according to Hadith of Abu Hurairah.’”

حَدَّثَنِى هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِى عَمْرٌو عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى التُّجِيبِىُّ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِى يُونُسُ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ بَعَثَنِى أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ فِى الْحَجَّةِ الَّتِى أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَبْلَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فِى رَهْطٍ يُؤَذِّنُونَ فِى النَّاسِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ لاَ يَحُجُّ بَعْدَ الْعَامِ مُشْرِكٌ وَلاَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ. قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَكَانَ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَقُولُ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ يَوْمُ الْحَجِّ الأَكْبَرِ. مِنْ أَجْلِ حَدِيثِ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ.

It was narrated that Ibn Al-Musayyab said: “Aishah said: ‘The Messenger Of Allah (SAW) said: ‘There is no day when Allah ransoms more slaves from the fire than the day of Arafat. He draws near, then He boasts about them before the Angles and Says: ‘What do these people want?””

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِىُّ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِى مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يُونُسَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ يَقُولُ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ أَنْ يُعْتِقَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ عَبْدًا مِنَ النَّارِ مِنْ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ وَإِنَّهُ لَيَدْنُو ثُمَّ يُبَاهِى بِهِمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ فَيَقُولُ مَا أَرَادَ هَؤُلاَءِ ».

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that The Messenger Of Allah (SAW) said: “From one Umrah to the next is an expiation for whatever(of sin) comes in between, and an accepted Hajj (Al-Hajjul-Mabrur) brings no reward but Paradise.”

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ سُمَىٍّ مَوْلَى أَبِى بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِى صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « الْعُمْرَةُ إِلَى الْعُمْرَةِ كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَالْحَجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ لَيْسَ لَهُ جَزَاءٌ إِلاَّ الْجَنَّةُ ».
