It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saw a man driving a camel and he said: “Ride it.” He said: “O Messenger of Allah (SAW), it is a sacrificial camel.” He said: “Ride it, woe to you!” the second or third time.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِى الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- رَأَى رَجُلاً يَسُوقُ بَدَنَةً فَقَالَ « ارْكَبْهَا ». قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا بَدَنَةٌ. فَقَالَ « ارْكَبْهَا وَيْلَكَ ». فِى الثَّانِيَةِ أَوْ فِى الثَّالِثَةِ.

It was narrated that Hammam bin Munabbih said: “This is what Abu Hurairah narrated from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (SAW)” - and he quoted a number of Ahadith, including the following: “He said: ‘While a man was driving a garlanded camel, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to him: Woe to you, ride it!” He said: “It is a sacrificial camel, O Messenger of Allah.” He said: “Woe to you, ride it! Woe to you, ride it!”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ قَالَ هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَدَنَةً مُقَلَّدَةً قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « وَيْلَكَ ارْكَبْهَا ». فَقَالَ بَدَنَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ. قَالَ « وَيْلَكَ ارْكَبْهَا وَيْلَكَ ارْكَبْهَا ».

Jabir bin Abdullah was asked about riding the sacrificial animal. He said: “I heard the Prophet (SAW) say: ‘Ride it gently if you need to, until you find another mount.’”

وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِى أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ سُئِلَ عَنْ رُكُوبِ الْهَدْىِ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « ارْكَبْهَا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ إِذَا أُلْجِئْتَ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَجِدَ ظَهْرًا ».

Musa bin Salamah Al-Hudhali said: “Sinan bin Salamah and I set out for Umrah.” He said: “Sinan set out with the sacrificial camel that he was driving, and it stopped on the road due to exhaustion. He was confused about what to with it: If it was too exhausted to move, how could he bring it? He said: ‘When I reached the city I shell certainly find out about it.’” He (Musa) said: “The next morning we stopped at Al-Batha and he said: ‘Go to Ibn Abbas and speak to him.’” (I went to him and) told him about his camel, and he said: ‘you have come to one who is well informed. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) sent sixteen camels with a man, and put him in charge of them. He set out, then he came back and said: “O Messenger of Allah (SAW), what should I do if any of them becomes too exhausted to move?” He said: “Slaughter it, then dip the shoes (on the garland) in its blood, and put them on its hump but neither you nor any of the people who are with you should eat from it.”’

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِى التَّيَّاحِ الضُّبَعِىِّ حَدَّثَنِى مُوسَى بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْهُذَلِىُّ قَالَ انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَسِنَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ مُعْتَمِرَيْنِ قَالَ وَانْطَلَقَ سِنَانٌ مَعَهُ بِبَدَنَةٍ يَسُوقُهَا فَأَزْحَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ بِالطَّرِيقِ فَعَيِىَ بِشَأْنِهَا إِنْ هِىَ أُبْدِعَتْ كَيْفَ يَأْتِى بِهَا. فَقَالَ لَئِنْ قَدِمْتُ الْبَلَدَ لأَسْتَحْفِيَنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ.قَالَ فَأَضْحَيْتُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلْنَا الْبَطْحَاءَ قَالَ انْطَلِقْ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ نَتَحَدَّثْ إِلَيْهِ. قَالَ فَذَكَرَ لَهُ شَأْنَ بَدَنَتِهِ. فَقَالَ عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بِسِتَّ عَشْرَةَ بَدَنَةً مَعَ رَجُلٍ وَأَمَّرَهُ فِيهَا - قَالَ - فَمَضَى ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا أُبْدِعَ عَلَىَّ مِنْهَا قَالَ « انْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ اصْبُغْ نَعْلَيْهَا فِى دَمِهَا ثُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ عَلَى صَفْحَتِهَا وَلاَ تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ وَلاَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِكَ ».

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: “The people used to depart from all points, and the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘No one should leave until the last thing he has done is to circumambulate the House. ’”

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَحْوَلِ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّاسُ يَنْصَرِفُونَ فِى كُلِّ وَجْهٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « لاَ يَنْفِرَنَّ أَحَدٌ حَتَّى يَكُونَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِ بِالْبَيْتِ ». قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ يَنْصَرِفُونَ كُلَّ وَجْهٍ. وَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِى.

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: “The people were commanded that the last thing they should do is to circumambulate the House, but an exception was made for menstruating women.”

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لِسَعِيدٍ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أُمِرَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يَكُونَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِمْ بِالْبَيْتِ إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ خُفِّفَ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ الْحَائِضِ.

It was narrated that Tawus said: “I was with Ibn Abbas, when Zaid bin Thabit said: ‘Are you ruling that a menstruating woman may leave before the last thing she does is to circumambulate the House? ’ Ibn Abbas said to him: ‘If you want to be certain, ask so-and-so, the Ansari woman, whether the Messenger of Allah (SAW) told her to do that?’ Zaid bin Thabit came back to Ibn Abbas smiling and said: ‘I see that you were telling the truth.’”

حَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِى الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِذْ قَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ تُفْتِى أَنْ تَصْدُرَ الْحَائِضُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَكُونَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهَا بِالْبَيْتِ.فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِمَّا لاَ فَسَلْ فُلاَنَةَ الأَنْصَارِيَّةَ هَلْ أَمَرَهَا بِذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ فَرَجَعَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَضْحَكُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ مَا أَرَاكَ إِلاَّ قَدْ صَدَقْتَ.

It was narrated from Abu Salamah and Urwah that Aishah said: “Safiyyah bint Huyayy got her menses after she had done Tawaf Al-Ifadah.” Aishah said: “I mentioned her menses to the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Is she going to detain us?’” She said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (SAW),she has already departed (from Mina) and circumambulated the House, then she got her menses after Tawaf Al-Ifadah’. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Then let her leave.’”

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِى سَلَمَةَ وَعُرْوَةَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ حَاضَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَىٍّ بَعْدَ مَا أَفَاضَتْ - قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ - فَذَكَرْتُ حِيضَتَهَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِىَ ». قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا قَدْ كَانَتْ أَفَاضَتْ وَطَافَتْ بِالْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ حَاضَتْ بَعْدَ الإِفَاضَةِ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « فَلْتَنْفِرْ ».

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “We were afraid that Safiyyah would get her menses before she did Tawaf Al-Ifadah.” She said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) came to us and said: ‘Is Safiyyah going to detain us?’ We said: ‘She has already done Tawaf Al-Ifadah.’ He said: ‘No, then.”’

وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَفْلَحُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كُنَّا نَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ تَحِيضَ صَفِيَّةُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُفِيضَ - قَالَتْ - فَجَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ « أَحَابِسَتُنَا صَفِيَّةُ ». قُلْنَا قَدْ أَفَاضَتْ. قَالَ « فَلاَ إِذًا ».

It was narrated from Aishah that she said to the Messenger of Allah (SAW): ‘O Messenger of Allah (SAW), Safiyyah bint Huyayy has got her menses.’ The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Perhaps she is going to detain us. Did she not circumambulate the House with you? ’ They said: ‘Yes she did.’ He said: ‘Then depart.’”

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِى بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَىٍّ قَدْ حَاضَتْ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « لَعَلَّهَا تَحْبِسُنَا أَلَمْ تَكُنْ قَدْ طَافَتْ مَعَكُنَّ بِالْبَيْتِ ». قَالُوا بَلَى. قَالَ « فَاخْرُجْنَ ».
