وَ الصّٰٓفّٰتِ صَفًّاۙ۝۱

I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows,

فَالزّٰجِرٰتِ زَجْرًاۙ۝۲

And those who restrain by reprimanding,

فَالتّٰلِیٰتِ ذِكْرًاۙ۝۳

And those who recite the Reminder,

اِنَّ اِلٰهَكُمْ لَوَاحِدٌؕ۝۴

Verily your God is One,

رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ مَا بَیْنَهُمَا وَ رَبُّ الْمَشَارِقِؕ۝۵

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts.

اِنَّا زَیَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنْیَا بِزِیْنَةِ ِ۟الْكَوَاكِبِۙ۝۶

He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars,

وَ حِفْظًا مِّنْ كُلِّ شَیْطٰنٍ مَّارِدٍۚ۝۷

Protecting them against every wayward devil,

لَا یَسَّمَّعُوْنَ اِلَی الْمَلَاِ الْاَعْلٰی وَ یُقْذَفُوْنَ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍۗۖ۝۸

So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides

دُحُوْرًا وَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَّاصِبٌۙ۝۹

And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them,

اِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ الْخَطْفَةَ فَاَتْبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ۝۱۰

Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame.
