وَ مَا مِنَّاۤ اِلَّا لَهٗ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُوْمٌۙ۝۱۶۴

"There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.)

وَّ اِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الصَّآفُّوْنَۚ۝۱۶۵

"And we are truly those who stand in rows,

وَ اِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْمُسَبِّحُوْنَ۝۱۶۶

And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him."

وَ اِنْ كَانُوْا لَیَقُوْلُوْنَۙ۝۱۶۷

They used to say:

لَوْ اَنَّ عِنْدَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ الْاَوَّلِیْنَۙ۝۱۶۸

If we had the account of earlier people with us,

لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِیْنَ۝۱۶۹

We would have been the chosen creatures of God."

فَكَفَرُوْا بِهٖ فَسَوْفَ یَعْلَمُوْنَ۝۱۷۰

Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon.

وَ لَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا الْمُرْسَلِیْنَۚۖ۝۱۷۱

Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, --

اِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ الْمَنْصُوْرُوْنَ۪۝۱۷۲

That they would be helped,

وَ اِنَّ جُنْدَنَا لَهُمُ الْغٰلِبُوْنَ۝۱۷۳

And that certainly Our armies will be victorious.
