It was narrated that Abu Nadrah said: “I was with Jabir bin Abdullah, and someone came to him and said: ‘Ibn Abbas and Ibn Az-Zubair differed concerning the two Mutah. Jabir said: ‘They did them both with the Messenger of Allah (SAW), then Umar forbade them to us, and we did not do them again.’’ ”

حَدَّثَنِى حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَكْرَاوِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِى نَضْرَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَأَتَاهُ آتٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ اخْتَلَفَا فِى الْمُتْعَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ فَعَلْنَاهُمَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ثُمَّ نَهَانَا عَنْهُمَا عُمَرُ فَلَمْ نَعُدْ لَهُمَا.

It was narrated from Anas [may Allah be pleased with them] that Ali came from Yemen and the Prophet (SAW) said to him: “For what did you enter Ihram?” He said: “I entered Ihram for the same as Prophet (SAW).” He said: “Were it not that I have the sacrificial animal with me, I would have exited Ihram.”

حَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِىٍّ حَدَّثَنِى سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الأَصْفَرِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ - رضى الله عنه - أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَدِمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ ». فَقَالَ أَهْلَلْتُ بِإِهْلاَلِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم-. قَالَ « لَوْلاَ أَنَّ مَعِىَ الْهَدْىَ لأَحْلَلْتُ ».

Anas said: “I heard the Prophet (SAW) say: ‘Labbayka umratan wa hajjan (here I am for Umrah and Hajj)’” Humaid said: “Anas said: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: “Labbayka bi umratin wa hajj (here I am for Umrah and Hajj).”’’

وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ عَلِىُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِى إِسْحَاقَ وَحُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ قَالَ يَحْيَى سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « لَبَّيْكَ عُمْرَةً وَحَجًّا ». وَقَالَ حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ أَنَسٌ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجٍّ ».

Qatadah narrated that Anas [may Allah be pleased with them] told him, that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) performed Umrah four times, all of them in Dhul-Qadah apart from the one, which he did with his Hajj: The Umrah from Al-Hudaybiyah or at the time of Al-Hudaybiyah, in Dhul-Qadah ; the Umrah following year, in Dhul-Qadah; Umrah from Jiranah, when he divided the spoils of Hunain in Dhul-Qadah; and Umrah with Hajj.

حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ أَنَّ أَنَسًا - رضى الله عنه - أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- اعْتَمَرَ أَرْبَعَ عُمَرٍ كُلُّهُنَّ فِى ذِى الْقَعْدَةِ إِلاَّ الَّتِى مَعَ حَجَّتِهِ عُمْرَةً مِنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ أَوْ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فِى ذِى الْقَعْدَةِ وَعُمْرَةً مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ فِى ذِى الْقَعْدَةِ وَعُمْرَةً مِنْ جِعْرَانَةَ حَيْثُ قَسَمَ غَنَائِمَ حُنَيْنٍ فِى ذِى الْقَعْدَةِ وَعُمْرَةً مَعَ حَجَّتِهِ.

It was narrated that Abu Ishaq said: “I asked Zaid bin Arqam: ‘How many times did you go out on military campaigns with the Messenger of Allah (SAW)?’ He said: ‘Seventeen.’” He said: “And Zaid bin Arqam told me that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) went out on nineteen campaigns, and after he emigrated he performed Hajj only once the Farewell Pilgrimage.”Abu Ishaq said: “And he performed another while he was in Makkah.”

وَحَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَخْبَرَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِى إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ كَمْ غَزَوْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ. قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِى زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- غَزَا تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَنَّهُ حَجَّ بَعْدَ مَا هَاجَرَ حَجَّةً وَاحِدَةً حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ. قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ وَبِمَكَّةَ أُخْرَى.

Ata said: “Urwah bin Az-Zubair told me: ‘Ibn Umar and I were leaning on the wall outside the apartment of Aishah, and we could hear the sound of her brushing her teeth. I said: “O Abu Abdur-Rahman, did the Prophet (SAW) perform Umrah in Rajab?”’ He said: “Yes.” I said to Aishah: “O my mother, did you not hear what Abu Abdur-Rahman said?” She said: “What did he say?” I said: “He said that the Prophet (SAW) performed Umrah in Rajab.” She said: “May Allah forgive Abu Abdur-Rahman. By Allah, he did not perform Umrah except that he was with him.””He said: “Ibn Umar was listening, and he did not deny it or affirm it; he remained silent.”

وَحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِىُّ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يُخْبِرُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِى عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَنَا وَابْنُ عُمَرَ مُسْتَنِدَيْنِ إِلَى حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ وَإِنَّا لَنَسْمَعُ ضَرْبَهَا بِالسِّوَاكِ تَسْتَنُّ - قَالَ - فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَعْتَمَرَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فِى رَجَبٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ. فَقُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَىْ أُمَّتَاهُ أَلاَ تَسْمَعِينَ مَا يَقُولُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَتْ وَمَا يَقُولُ قُلْتُ يَقُولُ اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فِى رَجَبٍ. فَقَالَتْ يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لأَبِى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لَعَمْرِى مَا اعْتَمَرَ فِى رَجَبٍ وَمَا اعْتَمَرَ مِنْ عُمْرَةٍ إِلاَّ وَإِنَّهُ لَمَعَهُ. قَالَ وَابْنُ عُمَرَ يَسْمَعُ فَمَا قَالَ لاَ وَلاَ نَعَمْ. سَكَتَ.

It was narrated that Mujahid said: “Urwah bin Az-Zubair and I entered the Masjid and we saw Abdullah bin Umar sitting beside the apartment of Aishah, and the people were praying Duha in the Masjid. We asked him about their prayer and he said: ‘It is an innovation.’ Urwah said to him: ‘O Abu Abdur-Rahman how many times did the Messenger of Allah (SAW) performed Umrah?’ He said: ‘Four times, one of which was in Rajab.’ We did not want to deny him or reject him what he said. We heard the sound of Aishah brushing her teeth in the apartment, and Urwah said: ‘O Mother of believers, did you not hear what Abu Abdur-Rahman said?’ She said: ‘What did he say?’ He said: ‘He said that the Prophet (SAW) performed Umrah four times, one of which was in Rajab.’ She said: ‘May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur-Rahman. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) did not perform Umrah except he was with him. And he never performed Umrah in Rajab.’”

وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَعُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ جَالِسٌ إِلَى حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ الضُّحَى فِى الْمَسْجِدِ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ صَلاَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ بِدْعَةٌ. فَقَالَ لَهُ عُرْوَةُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَمِ اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ أَرْبَعَ عُمَرٍ إِحْدَاهُنَّ فِى رَجَبٍ. فَكَرِهْنَا أَنْ نُكَذِّبَهُ وَنَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ وَسَمِعْنَا اسْتِنَانَ عَائِشَةَ فِى الْحُجْرَةِ.فَقَالَ عُرْوَةُ أَلاَ تَسْمَعِينَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِلَى مَا يَقُولُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَقَالَتْ وَمَا يَقُولُ قَالَ يَقُولُ اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَرْبَعَ عُمَرٍ إِحْدَاهُنَّ فِى رَجَبٍ. فَقَالَتْ يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إِلاَّ وَهُوَ مَعَهُ وَمَا اعْتَمَرَ فِى رَجَبٍ قَطُّ.

Ata said: “I heard Abu Abbas say: ‘The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to a woman from among the Ansar – Ibn Abbas mentioned her name but I forgot it- “What kept you from performing Hajj with us?” she said: “We have only two camels,” and the father of her son and her son had gone for Hajj on camel, “and he left us the other camel so that we could carry water on it.” He said: “When Ramadan comes, go for Umrah, for Umrah in (that month) is equivalent to Hajj.”

وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِى عَطَاءٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُحَدِّثُنَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- لاِمْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ سَمَّاهَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَنَسِيتُ اسْمَهَا « مَا مَنَعَكِ أَنْ تَحُجِّى مَعَنَا ». قَالَتْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَنَا إِلاَّ نَاضِحَانِ فَحَجَّ أَبُو وَلَدِهَا وَابْنُهَا عَلَى نَاضِحٍ وَتَرَكَ لَنَا نَاضِحًا نَنْضِحُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ « فَإِذَا جَاءَ رَمَضَانُ فَاعْتَمِرِى فَإِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِيهِ تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً ».

It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to leave via Ash-Shajarah and enter via Al-Muarris. When he entered Makkah, he entered from the upper mountain pass and exited from the lower mountain pass.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِى حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كَانَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ طَرِيقِ الشَّجَرَةِ وَيَدْخُلُ مِنْ طَرِيقِ الْمُعَرَّسِ وَإِذَا دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ دَخَلَ مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ الْعُلْيَا وَيَخْرُجُ مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ السُّفْلَى.

It was narrated from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) stayed overnight in Dhu Tuwa until morning, then he entered Makkah.He said: “Abdullah used to do that.” In the report of (one of the narrators) Ibn Saeed it says: “Until he prayed Subh.” Yahya said: “Or he said: ‘Until morning came.’”

حَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى - وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ - عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِى نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بَاتَ بِذِى طَوًى حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ. قَالَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ. وَفِى رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ سَعِيدٍ حَتَّى صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ. قَالَ يَحْيَى أَوْ قَالَ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ.
