It was narrated that Jabir said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘The number of stones used for cleaning oneself (after defecating) is odd, and the number of stones used for stoning the Jamrah is odd, and the number of times for Sai between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah is odd, and the number of circuits around the Kabah is odd, so when one of you cleans himself with stones, let him use odd number of stones. ’”

وَحَدَّثَنِى سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَزَرِىُّ - عَنْ أَبِى الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « الاِسْتِجْمَارُ تَوٌّ وَرَمْىُ الْجِمَارِ تَوٌّ وَالسَّعْىُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ تَوٌّ وَالطَّوَافُ تَوٌّ وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ بِتَوٍّ ».

It was narrated from Nafi that Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) shaved his head, as did a number of his Companions and some of them cut their hair.”Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘May Allah have mercy on those who shaved their heads,’ once or twice, then he said: ‘And those who cut their hair.’”

وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وَحَلَقَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَصَّرَ بَعْضُهُمْ. قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ - مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ - وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ».

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) came to Mina, and he came to the Jamrah and stoned it, then he came to the place where he was staying in Mina and offered his sacrifice, then he said to the barber: “Take,” and he pointed to the right side (of his head) then the left side, then he started giving (the hair) to the people.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَتَى مِنًى فَأَتَى الْجَمْرَةَ فَرَمَاهَا ثُمَّ أَتَى مَنْزِلَهُ بِمِنًى وَنَحَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْحَلاَّقِ « خُذْ ». وَأَشَارَ إِلَى جَانِبِهِ الأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ الأَيْسَرِ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ يُعْطِيهِ النَّاسَ.

It was narrated from Hisham with this chain (a Hadith similar to no.3152). Abu Bakr said in this report: “He (SAW) said to the barber: ‘Here,’ and pointed with his hand to the right side like this, and he distributed his hair among those who were near to him. Then he gestured to the barber and to the left side, and he shaved him and he gave it to Umm Sulaim.”In the report of Abu Kuraib it says: “He (SAW) started with the right side, and distributed it, one or two hairs at time, among the people. Then he gestured to the left side and did likewise, then he said: ‘Is Abu Talhah here?’ and he gave it to Abu Talhah. ”

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالُوا أَخْبَرَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ أَمَّا أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ فِى رِوَايَتِهِ لِلْحَلاَّقِ « هَا ». وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْجَانِبِ الأَيْمَنِ هَكَذَا فَقَسَمَ شَعَرَهُ بَيْنَ مَنْ يَلِيهِ - قَالَ - ثُمَّ أَشَارَ إِلَى الْحَلاَّقِ وَإِلَى الْجَانِبِ الأَيْسَرِ فَحَلَقَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ. وَأَمَّا فِى رِوَايَةِ أَبِى كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ فَبَدَأَ بِالشِّقِّ الأَيْمَنِ فَوَزَّعَهُ الشَّعَرَةَ وَالشَّعَرَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ثُمَّ قَالَ بِالأَيْسَرِ فَصَنَعَ بِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ « هَا هُنَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ ». فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِى طَلْحَةَ.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) stoned the Jamrat Al-Aqabah, then he went to the sacrificial camels and slaughtered them, and the cupper was sitting there. He pointed to his head with his hand, and he shaved the right side and distributed it among those who were near him. Then he said: ‘Shave the other side.’ And he said: ‘Where is Abu Talhah?’ and he gave it to him.

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ إِلَى الْبُدْنِ فَنَحَرَهَا وَالْحَجَّامُ جَالِسٌ وَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ عَنْ رَأْسِهِ فَحَلَقَ شِقَّهُ الأَيْمَنَ فَقَسَمَهُ فِيمَنْ يَلِيهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ « احْلِقِ الشِّقَّ الآخَرَ ». فَقَالَ « أَيْنَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ ». فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ.

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: “When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) stoned the Jamrah and offered his sacrifice and shaved his head, he showed his right side to the barber and he shaved it. Then he called Abu Talhah Al-Ansari and gave it to him. Then he showed him the left side and said: ‘Shave it.’ So he shaved it, and he gave it to Abu Talhah and said: ‘Distribute it among the people.’”

وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِى عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَسَّانَ يُخْبِرُ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ لَمَّا رَمَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- الْجَمْرَةَ وَنَحَرَ نُسُكَهُ وَحَلَقَ نَاوَلَ الْحَالِقَ شِقَّهُ الأَيْمَنَ فَحَلَقَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ الأَنْصَارِىَّ فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ الشِّقَّ الأَيْسَرَ فَقَالَ « احْلِقْ ». فَحَلَقَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَ « اقْسِمْهُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ».

It was narrated the Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As said: “During the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) stopped in Mina and the people asked him questions. A man came and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I didn’t realize and I shaved my head before offering the sacrifice. ’ He said: ‘Offer your sacrifice, it doesn’t matter.’ Then another man came and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I didn’t realize and offered my sacrifice before stoning the Jamrah.’ He said: ‘Stone it, it doesn’t matter.’”He said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) was not asked about anything that was done sooner or later, but he said: ‘Do it, it doesn’t matter.’”

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فِى حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ بِمِنًى لِلنَّاسِ يَسْأَلُونَهُ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَمْ أَشْعُرْ فَحَلَقْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ. فَقَالَ « اذْبَحْ وَلاَ حَرَجَ ». ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَمْ أَشْعُرْ فَنَحَرْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَرْمِىَ فَقَالَ « ارْمِ وَلاَ حَرَجَ ». قَالَ فَمَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَنْ شَىْءٍ قُدِّمَ وَلاَ أُخِّرَ إِلاَّ قَالَ « افْعَلْ وَلاَ حَرَجَ ».

Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) stopped on his mount, and the people started to ask him questions. One of them said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I did not realize that the stoning comes before the sacrifice, and I offered my sacrifice before stoning the Jamrah.’ The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Stone it, it doesn’t matter.’ Another said: ‘I did not realize that the sacrifice comes before shaving, and I shaved (my head) before I offered my sacrifice.’ He said: ‘Offer your sacrifice, it doesn’t matter.’ I did not hear him being asked about anything that day where a man had forgotten or was unaware of which things came before which ,and so on, but the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Do that, and it doesn’t matter.’”

وَحَدَّثَنِى حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِى يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِى عِيسَى بْنُ طَلْحَةَ التَّيْمِىُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ يَقُولُ وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَطَفِقَ نَاسٌ يَسْأَلُونَهُ فَيَقُولُ الْقَائِلُ مِنْهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّى لَمْ أَكُنْ أَشْعُرُ أَنَّ الرَّمْىَ قَبْلَ النَّحْرِ فَنَحَرْتُ قَبْلَ الرَّمْىِ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « فَارْمِ وَلاَ حَرَجَ ». قَالَ وَطَفِقَ آخَرُ يَقُولُ إِنِّى لَمْ أَشْعُرْ أَنَّ النَّحْرَ قَبْلَ الْحَلْقِ فَحَلَقْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ. فَيَقُولُ « انْحَرْ وَلاَ حَرَجَ ». قَالَ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُسْأَلُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنْ أَمْرٍ مِمَّا يَنْسَى الْمَرْءُ وَيَجْهَلُ مِنْ تَقْدِيمِ بَعْضِ الأُمُورِ قَبْلَ بَعْضٍ وَأَشْبَاهِهَا إِلاَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « افْعَلُوا ذَلِكَ وَلاَ حَرَجَ ».

It was narrated from Ibn Juraij with this chain (a Hadith similar to no. 3159). The report of Abu Bakr is like the report of Isa (no. 3159), apart from the phrase: “referring to these three, ” which he does not mention. In the report of Yahya Al-Umawi it says: “I shaved my head before offering the sacrifice, and I offered the sacrifice before stoning (the Jamrah) and so on.”

وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الأُمَوِىُّ حَدَّثَنِى أَبِى جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ أَمَّا رِوَايَةُ ابْنِ بَكْرٍ فَكَرِوَايَةِ عِيسَى إِلاَّ قَوْلَهُ لِهَؤُلاَءِ الثَّلاَثِ. فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ ذَلِكَ وَأَمَّا يَحْيَى الأُمَوِىُّ فَفِى رِوَايَتِهِ حَلَقْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ نَحَرْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَرْمِىَ. وَأَشْبَاهَ ذَلِكَ.

It was narrated that Abdul-Aziz bin Rufai said: “I asked Anas bin Malik: ‘Tell me something you know about the Messenger of Allah (SAW): Where did he pray Zuhr on the day of At-Tarwiyah?’ He said: ‘In Mina.’ I said: ‘And where did he pray Asr on the day of departure from Mina?’ He said: ‘In Al-Abtah.’ Then he said: ‘Do what your leaders do.’”

حَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الأَزْرَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قُلْتُ أَخْبِرْنِى عَنْ شَىْءٍ عَقَلْتَهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَيْنَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ يَوْمَ التَّرْوِيَةِ قَالَ بِمِنًى. قُلْتُ فَأَيْنَ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ يَوْمَ النَّفْرِ قَالَ بِالأَبْطَحِ - ثُمَّ قَالَ - افْعَلْ مَا يَفْعَلُ أُمَرَاؤُكَ.
