Read All Ahadith In The Book Of muslim

It was narrated from Abu Ad-Darda' that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Is any one of you incapable of reciting one-third of the Qur'an during the night?" They said: "How could he recite one-third of the Qur'an?" He said: "Say: "He is Allah the One" is equivalent to one-third of the Qur'an."

وَحَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِى الْجَعْدِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِى طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِى الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ فِى لَيْلَةٍ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ». قَالُوا وَكَيْفَ يَقْرَأُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ « (قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ) يَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ».

It was narrated from Qatadah with this chain. In their Hadith it says that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Allah divided the Qur'an into three parts and He made "Say: "He is Allah the One" one of the parts of the Qur'an."

وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِى عَرُوبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانٌ الْعَطَّارُ جَمِيعًا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ. وَفِى حَدِيثِهِمَا مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَزَّأَ الْقُرْآنَ ثَلاَثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ فَجَعَلَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ جُزْءًا مِنْ أَجْزَاءِ الْقُرْآنِ ».

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Gather together, for I am going to recite one-third of the Qu'an to you.' So the people gathered, then the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w) came out and recited: "Say: "He is Allah, (the) One)" then he went in. We said to one another: 'Perhaps there is news that has come to him from heaven and that is why he has gone in.' Then the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w) came out and said: 'I told you that I was going to recite one-third of the Qur'an to you, and it is equivalent to one-third of the Qur'an.'"

وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ جَمِيعًا عَنْ يَحْيَى - قَالَ ابْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ - حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « احْشِدُوا فَإِنِّى سَأَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكُمْ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ». فَحَشَدَ مَنْ حَشَدَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ نَبِىُّ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَرَأَ ( قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ) ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ إِنِّى أُرَى هَذَا خَبَرٌ جَاءَهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَذَاكَ الَّذِى أَدْخَلَهُ. ثُمَّ خَرَجَ نَبِىُّ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ « إِنِّى قُلْتُ لَكُمْ سَأَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكُمْ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ أَلاَ إِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ».

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) came out to us and said: 'I will recite one-third of the Qur'an to you,' and he recited: "Say: "He is Allah, (the) One )" until its end."

وَحَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ أَبِى إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِى حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ « أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكُمْ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ». فَقَرَأَ (قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ) حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا.

It was narrated from 'Amrah bint 'Abdur-Rahman, who was under the care of 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet (s.a.w), that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) sent a man in charge of a raiding party, and he used to recite for his companions when leading them in prayer, and he would end with: "Say: He is Allah, (the) One)". When they came back, they mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and he said: "Ask him why he does that." So they asked him and he said: "Because it is a description of the Most Merciful and I love to recite it." The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Tell him that Allah loves him."

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِى هِلاَلٍ أَنَّ أَبَا الرِّجَالِ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَكَانَتْ فِى حَجْرِ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بَعَثَ رَجُلاً عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ لأَصْحَابِهِ فِى صَلاَتِهِمْ فَيَخْتِمُ بِ (قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ) فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوا ذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقَالَ « سَلُوهُ لأَىِّ شَىْءٍ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ ». فَسَأَلُوهُ فَقَالَ لأَنَّهَا صِفَةُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِهَا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « أَخْبِرُوهُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّهُ ».

It was narrated that 'Uqbah bin 'Amir said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Do you not see verses that have been revealed tonight, the like of which has never been seen? (They are:) Say: I seek refuge with (Allah), the Lord of the daybreak, and: Say: 'I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind.' "

وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ بَيَانٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِى حَازِمٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « أَلَمْ تَرَ آيَاتٍ أُنْزِلَتِ اللَّيْلَةَ لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهُنَّ قَطُّ (قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ) وَ (قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ) ».

It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "There is no envy except in two cases: A man to whom Allah gives (causes to learn) the Qur'an and he recites it during the night and during the day, and a man to whom Allah gives wealth, and he spends it during the night and during the day."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ - قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ - حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِىُّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « لاَ حَسَدَ إِلاَّ فِى اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ ».

It was narrated that Qais said: "I heard 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud say: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'There is no cause for envy except in two cases: 'A man to whom Allah gives wealth and enables him to spend it in support of the truth, and a man to whom Allah gives wisdom and he rules in accordance with it and teaches it."'

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « لاَ حَسَدَ إِلاَّ فِى اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَسَلَّطَهُ عَلَى هَلَكَتِهِ فِى الْحَقِّ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ حِكْمَةً فَهُوَ يَقْضِى بِهَا وَيُعَلِّمُهَا ».

It was narrated from 'Amir bin Wathilah that Nafi' bin 'Abdul-Harith met 'Umar in 'Usfan, and 'Umar had appointed him as governor of Makkah. He said: "Whom did you appoint over the people of the valley?" He said: "Ibn Abza." He said: "Who is Ibn Abza?" He said: "One of our freed slaves." He said: "You have appointed a freed slave over them?!" He said: "He is well versed in the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and he is knowledgeable about the Fara'id." 'Umar said: "Your Prophet (s.a.w) said: 'Allah raises some in status because of this Book and He lowers others because of it."'

وَحَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنِى أَبِى عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْحَارِثِ لَقِىَ عُمَرَ بِعُسْفَانَ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَسْتَعْمِلُهُ عَلَى مَكَّةَ فَقَالَ مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْتَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْوَادِى فَقَالَ ابْنَ أَبْزَى. قَالَ وَمَنِ ابْنُ أَبْزَى قَالَ مَوْلًى مِنْ مَوَالِينَا. قَالَ فَاسْتَخْلَفْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَوْلًى قَالَ إِنَّهُ قَارِئٌ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَإِنَّهُ عَالِمٌ بِالْفَرَائِضِ. قَالَ عُمَرُ أَمَا إِنَّ نَبِيَّكُمْ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَدْ قَالَ « إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ أَقْوَامًا وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ ».

'Umar bin Al-Khattab said: "I heard Hisham bin Halim bin Hizam reciting Surat Al-Furqan in a manner other than I recited it, and the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) had taught it to me. I was about to argue with him, but I restrained myself until he had finished (praying), then I caught him by his Rida' and brought him to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I heard this man reciting Surat Al-Furqan in a manner other than you taught it to me.' The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Let go of him. Recite it.' He recited it in the manner in which I had heard him recite, and the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Thus it was revealed.' Then he said to me: 'Recite it.' So I recited it and he said: 'Thus it was revealed. This Qur'an has been revealed in seven modes of recitation, so recite whatever is easy for you."'

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِىِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا أَقْرَؤُهَا وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَقْرَأَنِيهَا فَكِدْتُ أَنْ أَعْجَلَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَمْهَلْتُهُ حَتَّى انْصَرَفَ ثُمَّ لَبَّبْتُهُ بِرِدَائِهِ فَجِئْتُ بِهِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّى سَمِعْتُ هَذَا يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْفُرْقَانِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا أَقْرَأْتَنِيهَا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « أَرْسِلْهُ اقْرَأْ ». فَقَرَأَ الْقِرَاءَةَ الَّتِى سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ ». ثُمَّ قَالَ لِىَ « اقْرَأْ ». فَقَرَأْتُ فَقَالَ « هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ أُنْزِلَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ».
